Our job

 

Today I clicked - https://www.renunganharian.net/ .  Site for "Renungan harian". Each day is one Bible verse.

Today's verse is Colossians 3:23 "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;"

Yes , we are told to do it heartily - but for what purpose ?

 Next verse is

:24 "Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ."

Our job only understood by God , but there're also the "reward" . Hence it is not only known but remembered. Not only remembered but appreciated. Not only appreciated but rewarded. And very interesting "for ye serve the Lord Christ".

And this is for "whatsoever ye do"  - no matter what you are doing - if we do it "as to Lord". 

But how about the our master in the world ? As it is written also "and not unto men;"

I think working as to the Lord , will/should give more satisfying result to our master in the world. That master can be our boss, our superior , our company , or leader , or even perhaps our costumers. Or if you are a superior of someone, wouldn't you be satisfied if you sub ordinate work for you as they work for Lord ?
